I found this little shelf for $5. Painted it and added quotes about reading in gold paint pen. Used stickers to write "please borrow any books!" on top. It is for my classroom.

Tomato crafts
I separated my overcrowded tomatoes into three pots, then created my own trellises from a piece of scrap wood (formerly part of a bookcase?), an old towel rod (note: does not stand on its own), and a paint stirrer. Results TBD. So far I just propped them up encouragingly, but I have faith they will wind themselves.

Jewelry cleaner?
Take lusterless/dirty items and place in small bowl in which there is hot water, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. And a piece of foil. Stirred. Add vinegar and let sit until reaction has ended, as evidenced by lack of bubbling (5-10 min). Remove and rinse jewels and see if luster has been restored... I cannot tell. There was still gunk in my earing backs at least. Whatever.
Before photos not able to load, so this is just after.

Improved lamp stand
So I did connect the cans with duct tape, which I could have done more smoothly, then painted them and then decorated with a gold paint pen. It is mostly two poems I like by Mary Oliver from American Primitive. The bottom can is weighted by being near full of beer bottle caps. I knew saving those would lead to something...

Lamp stand
/Product placement. Stack old cans and place lamp on top. I might secure them together with duct tape and paint it later. Maybe.

DIY pinboard
Replace glass in frame with double layer of cardboard wrapped in fabric. I used an old T-shirt and duct taped it together in the back.

Hanged planters
Filled with bottle caps for drainage and planted with cilantro and garlic chives (and maybe some oregano by accident. The top one might be overcrowded). Hanging with more string and a giant carabeener.
Accent wall 2
I also painted this sticking-out wall in our kitchen, based on the antique windows in our building that you can kind of see out the window.
Accent wall
I painted a design on our kitchen island based on the window irons on our building. I realize it looks somewhat phallic. My husband and I were both ok with it.
Picture
I just nailed this picture from the thrift store directly into the wall because it's beautiful and I'm never taking it down!
Hanging Bag
I hung a bag on the wall to hang hats and gloves for easy grabbing on the way out. It is also covering a nonfunctional intercom!
Settlers of Catan Lamp
I wrapped an old lampshade in a... Placemat? Or some strange Settlers of Catan map we got for free. I hope it isn't a fire hazard.
Painted coffee table
Watering can
I put holes in the top of this empty milk jug to water my plants more gently. It doesn't work very well.
Plantfail
The roots of this plant rotted and I just planted the leaves back into a new pot of soil. Survival is not likely.
Painted chair
Vase candle holder
This is a vase with a shot glass inside holding the candle. Candle and shot glass are held in place thanks to the surrounding blue glass thingies I had under the sink. As you can see, I am not afraid to light this candle.
Candle holders
I made shot glasses and a small jar into candle holders. The tape on the candle is because I broke it. #Hulkcrafts
Key hooks
I used old keys and nails and push pins to make this shelf mirror into a meta key holder. I only cracked the wood a little. The white blobs on the ends of some keys that I couldn't bend enough are drywall.
